Fast facts

• The tunnels were part of the Sydney Harbour defences from the early 1800s until the 1960s.
• The performance space is within a fortification built in 1877 as a commanding position. The underground rooms of the fortification were used to store ammunition and charges which were brought along Military Road, giving the road its name.
