About the performance space

The venue for the performance is in the beautiful surrounds of Headland Park Mosman. It will take place in the B42 tunnels just down from the artists’ precinct in the Lower Georges Height area.

This is an unusual venue; please note the following:

Assembly point

The assembly point for pre-show induction will be on the balcony of Building 4 (now artist studios) which is clearly visible from the Headland Park carpark area. All audience members are requested to arrive no later than 15 minutes before the performance commences — 7:45pm for 8pm start Thursday to Saturday, and 3:45pm for 4pm start Sunday.

At the assembly point you will be greeted by a member of the crew who will lead you through the brief audience induction. The first of these will begin 15 minutes before the performance, and small groups will be led into the performance space. There is no reserved seating.

Late comers will not be admitted under any circumstances. We advise you arrive in plenty of time and enjoy the magnificent views of Sydney Harbour!

Performance space

The performance space is a barrel vaulted ammunition store (5m x 9m x 2.5m), accessed via 50 meters of tunnels, approximately 5 metres underground. The space is not particularly claustrophobic but those with claustrophobia should consider whether or not they will be capable of sitting in the room for approximately 1 hour to watch the performance.

Safety procedures

The tunnels are heritage listed and as such have no banisters and minimal facilities. Safety procedures must be followed at all times by those entering the tunnel. Audience members will be lead into the tunnels and performance room in small groups. We request that all audience members wear sensible shoes.

Disabled access

Please note that due to the steepness of the tunnel access ramp, the uneven surfaces and the steps within the tunnel system, we have been advised that this venue is not safe for wheelchair bound patrons.

Age restrictions

We suggest that due to the show’s content (wounded soldiers, surgical procedures, bomb blasts, etc) that young children may find the show distressing. We suggest parental descretion as to whether the show would be suitable for your children if they are under the age of 15.

Toilets

There are no toilet facilities within the tunnels. The toilets are approximately 100 meters from the tunnel entrance just behind the carpark. Anyone leaving the tunnels during the performance will not be permitted to re-enter the tunnels once the performance has commenced — we recommend using the facilities before the show.

No smoking

Patrons must note: this is a non-smoking event. There is no smoking permitted anywhere within the tunnel system. A small designated smoking area above ground will be made available to patrons for use prior to the commencement of the show. We ask all smoking patrons to dispose of their cigarette butts in the bins provided, ensuring the safety of the surrounding bushland.
